Step by step solutions

In the first picture below, the user has already taken several steps, and now wants to collect like terms. The pictures show how this is accomplished.
The user has used the mouse to select the term shown in the yellow selection box. As soon as the term is selected, a menu of possible operations pops up. Nothing is selected in that menu. In the menu, a question mark stands for the selected term.
The user now selects an operation to apply. After the operation is applied, the result is shown as the next line of the calculation. The user is now ready to consider the next step.
